Introduction: Education, obligation and social marketing are held the three fundamental strategies for changing health behavior. Focusing on educating women and caring about impediments on women’s knowledge and outlook are emphasized in Iranian health services system. However, utilizing audience-based behavioral models, we can identify the viewpoints and opinions of the target audience about a behavior and strengthen the profits or decrease the related expenses accordingly. The most important audience-based behavioral model is social marketing. The present study is an attempt to design and execute a modern midwifery counselling services method based on the needs and demands of pregnant women and mothers using social marketing model.
